NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY 2022-23

Science is inexplicably linked with our lives and helps us to understand the world around us better. The Central Board of Secondary Education has been taking many initiatives to generate curiosity and develop scientific attitude amongst learners. Such initiatives encourage learners to create, innovate and to become more responsible.

Amrita Vidyalayam organised a science exhibition in school labs on account of National Science Day on 28th February, 2023. A speech on the importance of National Science Day and introduction to the 2023 theme, “Global Science for Global Wellbeing” was done by Kaustubh Thorat of Class 8 during the school assembly. Interesting fun facts were given by Rishabh Shetty of Class 5.

The inauguration of the Science exhibition was done by Principal Mrs. Anupama Rao and HM of the primary section Ms. Monika Sularia, along with the Science department. Anand Gopakumar of Class 5 welcomed the Principal and the HM of the primary section, along with the teachers and students for experiencing the different concepts of science exhibited by selected students of classes 3 to 8 through their models.

The theme given to students was “Technology and Toys” under which the sub-themes were:-

  • Eco-Friendly Materials
  • Health and Cleanliness
  • Transport and Innovation
  • Environmental Concerns

The student project included an investigation-based study, application of basic principles of Science and Technology and conservation of energy, water management, environmental concern models. Only Bio-degradable Materials were used for the construction of the models.

The excitement in the school was witnessed not only by the students, but also by all the science teachers who exposed the children to different activities which helped them to go a step further in understanding science.
