A workshop to sensitize teachers of Grade 3 to Grade 6 in their approach towards students with special needs was organized on 21st April, 2023 at Amrita Vidyalayam.
Counsellor Mrs. Gayatri explained the traits and symptoms exhibited by the students facing learning problems. Teachers enacted role plays to help their co-teachers to understand the strategies to deal better with such children. There were activities and games to energise and encourage the participants.
Mrs. Gayatri demonstrated how children with disabilities benefit greatly from being with other children and from receiving consistent care from adults. The learning outcome of the workshop is that children with special needs must be looked at as what they could be, rather than what they are.
