SEED BALL ACTIVITY

“When we see Mother Nature as the embodiment of God, we will automatically serve and protect her.” – Amma

“Creation and the Creator are not two,” Amma constantly reminds us. It is this principle that motivates the various environmental programs and ‘green initiatives’ of Amma.

The C20 working group on Sustainable and Resilient Communities has launched a Global seed ball campaign. This campaign is an initiative to encourage students to make seed balls in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.

Seed balls are a mixture of soil, compost, and seeds. With the monsoon setting in, these planted seed balls will ultimately mature into trees, resulting in increased green cover. Students of Class 5 and 6 made seed balls with seeds of fruits such as watermelon and jamun, and vegetables like tomato and chilli, on 14th June, 2023. The benefits and objective of the activity, as well as how it would be a part of this global initiative of restoration of the ecosystem, was explained to the students.

The School Administrator, Principal, Head mistress and teachers also participated in this initiative and contributed to the cause.
