Om Namah Shivaya! The most awaited and auspicious ceremonial occasion of the school, Investiture Ceremony was celebrated on 15th June, 2022, in Amrita Vidyalayam, Navi Mumbai with full zeal, zest and enthusiasm. The Investiture Ceremony is a momentous occasion when the school entrusts hope, faith and the mantle of responsibility to the newly appointed school cabinet. This ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly inducted office bearers.
Program was graced by the Administrator, Brahmacharini Sharanyamritaji, Guest Mrs. Madhuri, Principal, Headmistress, Vice-Principal, teachers and students. Mrs. Madhuriwas welcomed by the Primary headmistress with the sacred Tulsi plant believed to be a physical incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi on Earth.
Sadguru Amma, is the supreme leader who not only inspires her children, but also inspires the world with her love and compassion. The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp to seek blessings from Amma, followed by the prayer to invoke God.
Teacher, Mrs. Shainy Sudhir threw light on the importance of the investiture ceremony and the way it is held at Amrita Vidyalayam. Chief Guest Mrs. Madhuri emphasised that leaders are not born, but made. Schools and educational institutions play an important role in this. She appreciated the initiatives of the school to instil in students a strong sense of our cultural and spiritual values.
Brahmacharini Sharanyamritaji asked the students to analyse/think about the reason why everyone cannot be leaders. What is that makes a leader different from others. She advised the students to refer to the great Indian epics like Ramayana, and the Bhagavad Gita whenever they face any problem, confusion or difficulty in life. She quoted the below shloka from the Bhagavad Gita and explained that people follow a leader blindly. So, it’s important that a leader leads by example.
यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जन:। स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते॥
She highlighted a few more qualities like equipoise of mind, communication, and the importance of planning to be a successful leader. She quoted the example of Lord Rama – the clarity of thoughts and equanimity of mind possessed by him when he was asked to go into exile on the day of his coronation. She also mentioned the sacrifices of soldiers and the clarity of mind they have towards their duty and motherland. This motivating and inspiring speech was followed by the swearing in ceremony of the cabinet members by the dignitaries.
Principal Mrs. Kanchan Dayal congratulated the newly elected student council members and urged them to shoulder their duties and responsibilities of school events sincerely. She also administered the oath to the student council and the house mothers, where they promised to uphold the values and traditions of this great institution, pledging to take it to even greater heights!
Head boy, Head girl and the house mothers thanked the management for the opportunity provided to them and assured to do their duties sincerely and achieve the mission of the school collectively.
The program ended with the National anthem and Shanti mantra.
