He emphasized that having something in abundance is not sufficient, but knowing its importance and using it in the right manner is most important. He stressed that the values of truth, peace, non-violence, love and righteous conduct should be imparted to the children.

Sri Ajith Basu explained the meaning of Abodha-prabodhanam, which means internalizing knowledge through ‘natural’ learning and practice. He introduced the teachers to some global value perspectives such as aesthetic values, moral values, social values, emotional values, physical values and material values. He explained the Indian value perspective under Dharma, Yama and Niyama. He also discussed ‘Person in Value’ vs ‘Value in Person’.

Sri C K Suresh said that an effective methodology to impart value education in day-to-day life is to incorporate it in the lesson plans. Value education is important as it brings quality in life and leads to healthy development of the child. He said that teachers should include social, cultural, spiritual and personal values in their lessons. He also said that a teacher should be non-judgemental and accept the shortcomings of her student. He also said that the teacher should be a role model, and that the children should see Amma in their teacher.

The webinar ended with thanks giving and Shanthi Mantra.
