Students of 11th grade attended an AYUDH workshop which was conducted on June 28, 2019 at the school auditorium. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Praveena and Ms. Jayasudha who are members of the National Coordination team of AYUDH, and Mr. Amardeep Yadav who works as a Management Trainee at the Office of Youth Empowerment, Amrita University.
Founded in Kerala in 1985, AYUDH now has units across Asia, Europe, North and South America, Africa and Australia. It is open to youth between 15 and 35 years of age of all religions, gender, and social and cultural backgrounds. AYUDH is active in more than 41 countries worldwide and 23 states in India.
The various social outreach activities conducted by AYUDH which includes Personal Empowerment, Intercultural exchange, Green Initiatives, etc. were shown to students through a crisp audio visual presentation. A small game called “Freeze Frames” was played, where students were divided into 4 teams and a topic was given to them which they had to emote. Students became very interested and within a few minutes emoted beautifully on “Afforestation, “Drug Abuse”, “Social Media” and “Water Pollution”. They interacted freely with the resource persons and were very eager to register for the next AYUDH session.
Principal Brni. Rekha delivered the vote of thanks and urged students to seek life long happiness instead of going after short lived moments of pleasure. This, she said, is possible only when one gives back to society instead of focusing only on personal growth.
The programme ended with the chanting of Shanti Mantra.
