Teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam, under Principal Brni. Rekha’s guidance, participated in a Guru Paduka Puja which was held on March 15, 16 and 21, 2017 at our school. The puja was held in the school auditorium to pay respects to our beloved AMMA who was supposed to visit Mumbai on these days. After the rendition of Ashtotharam, Guru Stotram and Guru Paduka Stotram were chanted. Teachers individually offered flowers during the Ashtotharam. Bhajans were sung by teachers and Principal Ma’am, and flowers, fruits and prasad were offered to Amma.
A guided meditation was conducted by Principal Ma’am. She also taught breathing techniques to the teachers. Shanti Mantra was chanted 21 times and Gayatri mantra was chanted 5 times. Flowers were offered at the holy lotus feet of Amma and prasad was distributed after the aarthi.
“Seva is a part of Puja” – Taking the cue from Amma’s words, teachers went to the slums and distributed rice, dal, food packets containing Puri and Sabji, juice, biscuits, chocolates, clothes, bags and shoes.
