The school quadrangle at Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar came alive with the rhythmic and energetic performance of the tiny tots and the excitement of their enthusiastic parents on the occasion of the Annual Day of Amrita Nursery on Saturday, 13th February. The Chief Guest for the evening was Dr. Rajesh Patil who graced the occasion along with Br. Avyayamrita Chaitanya, the Math in-charge of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul.
In his speech, Dr. Patil lauded the school for imparting value based education which is the need of the hour for the holistic development of children of the current generation. He also cautioned parents about the perils of exposing young children to technology at such a tender age which leads to reduced levels of concentration.
Principal Brni. Rekha presented the Annual Report which listed the plethora of activities conducted by the pre-primary section, and also the significance of each of the activities in the growth and development of young minds. The achievers in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities were also felicitated by the esteemed guests.
As the evening lights came on, the tiny tots mesmerized the audience with their orchestrated dance steps and twinkling eyes. The children took the audience on a complete tour of India with their lively performances, and full justice was done to the theme “Folk dances of India”. Through their cultural talents, the little angels sent a clear and loud message – “Hamara Bharat Bemisaal”. A fashion show and an Assamese harvest dance marked the end of the cultural programme.
The wonderful evening came to a close with the National Anthem followed by Shanthi Mantra.
