First Day of Martial Arts (Kalari Payattu) Training!

On September 2, 2024, Kalari Payattu martial arts training commenced for students in Classes 3 to 5. This was followed by a series of warm-up exercises to prepare the students for the physical activities ahead.

Students then learned the Ashvavadiva (horse stance), essential for building strength and balance. They practiced leg-raising techniques, crucial for developing flexibility and agility in Kalari Payattu.

The training continued with the Thekkan style punch, emphasizing precision and control. Students were also introduced to fundamental techniques for blocking and hitting, vital for defending against attacks.

The class concluded with the chanting of traditional mantras, instilling a sense of discipline and respect among the students. This initial session laid a strong foundation for their journey in learning this ancient martial art, making the students eager to continue their training.
