A workshop on Self-management, and introduction to AYUDH and its programs, was held for the students of grades 9 and 10 at Amrita Vidyalayam on April 25, 2024.
The program started with lighting of the sacred lamp followed by prayer. The speakers were introduced and welcomed by the principal. The first speaker for the day was Brni Amritatmika Chaitanya, Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Engineering, who is also part of the National Co-ordination Committee of AYUDH & IAM at Amritapuri. She coordinates Meditation, Yoga, and youth programs through the Office of Youth Empowerment of Amrita University.
She started the session with a PPT presentation on self-management and AYUDH. She narrated anecdotes from Amma’s teachings. It was a very interactive session, and students could relate to the examples and understand the concepts. She elaborated on how Amma is the epitome of selflessness and embodiment of love.
The second speaker for the day was Brni Niseema, who has a Masters in Microbiology and has been teaching as an Assistant Professor at the Amrita School of Biotechnology, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus since 2004. She is also part of the National Co-ordination Committee for youth programs. She talked in detail about AYUDH, the activities undertaken by them, and how students can be part of the programme.
Students were motivated and very enthusiastic about the program. Around 60 students from grades 9 and 10 registered their names to be members of AYUDH. Overall, it was a very enriching session for the students.
