January 26th is a day of national rejoicing and is celebrated with zeal and spirit throughout the country. The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school. The school atrium was decorated with handmade posters, balloons, wall hangings and tricolour pigeons symbolising peace and harmony. Swami Avyayamritananda Puri, in charge of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul graced the occasion and unfurled the national flag. He blessed the students with his words of wisdom. He narrated the incidents of humanity and compassion which has made the culture of India so distinct and popular. Administrator Brni Saranyamrita Chaitanyaji addressed the students. She started with a melodious rendition of the famous bhajan – Raghupati Raghav Rajaram. She explained how habits turn into character if we consistently follow some practice. She explained how we can contribute to the nation positively. Ayush Chavan of Class 9 expressed his views about the independence struggle and our role and responsibility as citizens of India. Winners of the Annual Science Exibition- Vijnana Sarathi were given certificates.
No celebration is complete without song and dance. The school choir team presented a melodious patriotic song. Students of classes 7 and 8 presented an energetic Lezim dance to the rhythmic beat of drums. The program ended with thanksgiving to the students, teachers and all invited guests for their contribution, cooperation and efforts to make the event successful.
