“Leaders are not born, but are made by their experiences in life”. The prestigious Investiture Ceremony of Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar was held on June 19, 2018 in the school auditorium. As with every year, the students looked forward to their new leaders and House representatives who have been chosen due to the responsible manner in which they carry themselves, as well as the leadership skills they have displayed on many occasions.
The Chief Guests for the ceremony were Shri Sudhir Nikam, Asst. Inspector and Shri Akash Pawar, PSI, Nerul Police Station. Swami Avyayamrita Chaitanya (In-Charge, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul) also graced the ceremony. After the lighting of the lamp and prayer, Swamiji addressed the students and inspired them to be energetic youngsters and to uphold the values of the school at all times. He said that their dedication and commitment to studies would definitely have a fruitful outcome in the future.
The names of the newly elected leaders for the academic year were announced. The Head Boy for the academic year 2018-19 is Aditya Dubey and the Head Girl is Richa Patiala. They will be ably assisted by Jr. Head Boy Samarth Rane and Jr. Head Girl Nikunja Sonawane. The Sports Head Boy is Aditya Dubey and the Sports Head Girl is Manasi Wanave. The students came up proudly on the stage and were conferred with sashes and badges. It was now the time to announce the House Mothers along with the School Captains and Vice-Captains for the respective houses. It was indeed a proud moment for Amrita Vidyalayam as the council members for the academic year 2018-19 were officially assigned with powers and positions.

The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected student council was led by the Principal. She invited the Chief Guest to address the students. Shri Nikam congratulated the new leaders and appreciated the school’s efforts in promoting such activities that build future leaders. He understood the pulse of the youngsters and spoke on the much needed topic of Cyber-crime. Though the advantages offered by the cyber world are many, he spoke strongly about the perils of sharing personal information on social networking sites. He also made the students aware of new hacking methods used by mobile companies that one should be wary of. Students took advantage of this wonderful interaction with the police officials. The wonderful ceremony ended with a vote of thanks to the guests and the chanting of Shanthi Mantra.
