Students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar put up a grand show, displaying their passion towards physical fitness on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day celebrations.
The Chief Guest for the Flag Hoisting ceremony was Dr. A.P. Jayaraman, Sr. Nuclear Scientist (Retd.), BARC and Br. Avyayamrita Chaitanya, In-Charge, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul. Dr. Jayaraman made the students aware of the changing landscape of the world and how equipping one with cross domain technology is the need of the hour. “You students are entrusted with the task of nation building as the whole world is looking to India for economic and spiritual progress”, said Principal Brni. Rekha in her address. In his short and profound address, Swamiji told them that along with strength of body, self-control of the mind is also an essential component which would help them face the various challenges in life.
After the rendition of the National Anthem, the chief guest received the salute from the students as they smartly marched to the band in crisp white uniforms.
After the rendition of the patriotic song, “Mere desh ki dharti sona ugale”, students performed Mass PT Drill and Calisthenics. An energetic aerobic dance performance to “Jai Ho” left a lasting impression on the guests and teachers alike. The celebrations ended with girls and boys displaying their balancing skills by forming a human pyramid.
The programme ended with the chanting of Vande Mataram and the chanting of Shanti Mantra.
