Children’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner at Amrita Vidyalayam when our Senior Secondary students took to the stage and organized a string of activities for the younger students. The programme started with a song “Give me some sunshine…” which emphasized the yearning to live life fully in a joyful manner. A short speech was delivered on the life of Chacha Nehru and his love for children and roses, and why November 14th is observed as Children’s Day.
A hard hitting show named “Cleanliness – each one’s responsibility” was performed by the students to drive home the message that if each one takes ownership and keeps his/her immediate surroundings clean, the idea of a Clean India will not remain a dream, but will become a reality.
Principal Brni. Rekha took the opportunity to wish the young children a happy Children’s Day, and through a motivational speech, she asked them to overcome their fears in order to achieve their goals. She also said that just as children learn from adults, adults should also learn from children to live life joyfully.
Brni. Rekha conferred medals and certificates to the students who had won the Inter-School level of Spell Bee International.
