Students of Grade VIII attended a workshop on Personality Development on September 26, 2017. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Arpita Ghosh who holds a Masters degree in Physical Chemistry and a Post Graduate diploma in Personality Development. She is trained in psychology based workshops, and has been conducting Personality Development workshops for schools, colleges and corporates.
At the beginning of the workshop, Ms. Ghosh asked the students to come out of their comfort zones as they were sitting with their group of friends. The exercise was to enable students to interact with people outside their friends circle. They were also introduced to the 3 I’s of human behaviour, Initiative, Interaction, and Innovation. Students interacted very well with the trainer and discussed the factors that contribute to their confidence. Short games were played in groups which involved students writing down pointers on effective communication at home, school and in society. The games helped them to understand themselves well, recognize positive qualities about themselves, and realize that thorough knowledge of a subject can boost their confidence.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the 2-hour session and also discussed their communication problems with the trainer. The workshop ended with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
