On January 26, 2017, students of our Amrita Vidyalayam put up a crackling performance, expressing their pride in their motherland on the occasion of the 68th Republic Day celebrations at the school. The Chief Guest for the function, Br. Avyayamrita Chaitanya, In-Charge of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Nerul hoisted the National Flag. The rendition of the National Anthem was followed by the patriotic song, “Bharat Maa ki Shaan Badhade”. In his speech, Swamiji advised the young students to be proud of our country’s “Unity in Diversity” which is the hallmark of Indian culture. He praised our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has set an example for a multicultural society by inviting the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi as Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
Speeches by students in English and Hindi stressed the relevance of Republic Day. Students staged a skit portraying our motherland’s culture and traditions, and also gave an energetic dance performance to Bhagya Vidhata and Satyamev Jayate.
The programme ended with the rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by Shanti Mantra.
