E3 Edusolutions conducted a workshop named IDEA on August 20, 2016 at Ramseth Thakur Public School, Kharghar. The workshop was aimed at giving valuable insight to teachers on pedagogy such as how to be creative in their approach to teaching, thus making learning more enjoyable for young children.
Ms. Purvi Thakkar, Coordinator of Pre-primary and Ms. Ulka Gavhane, a Pre-primary teacher attended the workshop from Amrita Vidyalayam. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Sheetal Solanki who is an educator, content developer, designer and trainer with E3 Edusolutions.
The concept of IDEA where I = Innovation, D = Development and Discovery, E = Effective planning and A = Appreciation, was explained. The thrust of the workshop was on:
- Creating a comfort zone in classrooms where children are given liberty to express their ideas.
- Designing the classrooms in an interactive manner to encourage free flow of thoughts.
- Discovering the uniqueness of each student and understanding the social, personal and emotional quotient of each student.
- Following the correct protocol while teaching, i.e. listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Planning lessons in a ‘child-centred’ manner, and teaching in a way which would arouse the curiosity and interest of the students for better learning.
- Catering to each student by devoting sufficient time and giving constant motivation to encourage better learning.
Teachers worked in groups to present a lesson plan given to them as part of the workshop. They also took part in role play where chocolates and well-done cards were given to them to help understand the impact of motivation.
The workshop was very refreshing for our teachers who learnt new “IDEAS” which could be implemented in Amrita Nursery for a better learning experience for the children.
