The excitement surrounding the 66th Republic Day celebrations in India was matched with equal fervor at Amrita Vidyalayam. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony and rendition of the National Anthem.
A grand celebration was held in the school, and many activities were planned in the school premises. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the children sang Vande Mataram and other patriotic songs, and even wore tri-coloured clothes to mark the occasion.
Besides songs, dances were specially choreographed for the occasion and students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The students brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the motherland. A special dance depicting the Warli tribe was performed by the students in which the school bagged the 8th prize at the recently held Inter-State Balrang Festival in Bhopal. Speeches in English and Hindi were given by the students elaborating the arduous struggle by Indians to gain independence and the continued commitment to working towards retaining it.
The celebrations culminated with the chanting of Shanti Mantra.
