World Food Day, celebrated globally on October 16, serves as a reminder that everyone deserves access to nutritious food. The day emphasizes supporting efforts to end hunger worldwide and promoting healthier lifestyles. In honour of this, students also observed NO-BAG Day, arriving at school with only their snack bags.
At Amrita Nursery, the day was introduced with this year’s theme, “Right to Food for a Better Life and Better Future.” Teachers shared a video explaining food habits, dining etiquette, and the importance of a healthy diet. During recess, the pre-primary students showcased their culinary skills by setting up their tables, making healthy sandwiches, nutritious smoothies, and assembling desserts. The activity encouraged independence and creativity as they enjoyed preparing their own snacks.
Amrita Nursery hopes and prays that everyone will have access to at least one nutritious and healthy meal each day.
