WORKSHOP ON GOOD TOUCH & BAD TOUCH

“Children are empowered with wisdom, guided by a conscious awareness that protects them from harm.”

To safeguard our students and promote their well-being, a special program on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” was thoughtfully designed and implemented. The in-house counsellor, Ms. Gayatri, along with volunteers from Classes IX and X, led an informative and valuable session. The focus was on helping students identify safe and unsafe touch, as well as teaching them how to respond when faced with an unsafe situation, whether at school or in public.

The children were educated on recognizing inappropriate touch areas and how to handle unwanted physical contact from strangers. They were encouraged to firmly express their boundaries by saying, “Do not touch me,” and to report any concerning incidents to trusted adults such as parents, teachers, or guardians. Ms. Gayatri also conducted a practical demonstration that clearly illustrated the concept of the “safe circle,” making the distinction between good and bad touch easy to understand.

Through this interactive session, students learned essential self-protection skills, including recognizing “no-touch” zones, identifying safe adults, and understanding how to report suspicious behaviour. They were also taught to respond to strangers by asserting their boundaries, screaming, and fleeing from danger if necessary.

The practical involvement of our volunteers from Classes IX and X further reinforced these lessons, ensuring that students learned to protect themselves at a young age. The key message of the session was to empower children with the understanding that their body belongs to them and that they must always stay safe and secure.
