Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar, celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India in a unique and impactful manner, focusing not only on patriotism but also raising awareness about the growing threat of cyber-crime. The program aimed to educate parents, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students about the dangers of cyber-crime, particularly in today’s technologically advanced world, where the widespread use of mobile phones and computers, especially among youth, poses significant risks.
The event commenced with Dr. Vishal Mane, Inspector of Police, and a cybersecurity expert, as the Chief Guest, who also performed the flag hoisting. Administrator Brni. Sharanyamrita Chaitanya Ji addressed the gathering, emphasizing that true excellence is driven from within, citing the disciplined lives of India’s Krantikaris and the nation’s Army, Navy, and Airforce personnel as examples of dedication and patriotism. The school’s choir group added to the spirit of the celebration with a melodious song that energized the audience.
In conjunction with the Independence Day festivities, a Cybercrime Awareness Session for Parents was organized, led by Dr. Vishal Mane. He discussed the critical need for parents and teachers to remain vigilant about their children’s and students’ internet usage, especially on social media. Brni. Sharanyamrita Chaitanya Ji introduced the session, followed by a talk from Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Warrier, President of the Sumannalay Foundation, and Mr. Rudran, the Chairperson, who also participated in the program.
