The 77th Independence Day was celebrated at Amrita Vidyalayam with pride and enthusiasm. Students of classes 8 to 10 took part in the celebration held in the school quadrangle.
The guest for the day, Mr. Pramod Shankar Bhosale, Senior Inspector, Sanpada Police Station, was escorted to the stage for flag hoisting by the school student council. After the flag hoisting, the national anthem was sung with everyone saluting the national flag.
The program then started with the welcoming of the guest and other dignitaries on the stage, followed by a benedictory address by the Administrator Sharanyamrita Chaitanyaji. She emphasised the duties of students towards the county, and narrated a beautiful story to illustrate how one must fulfil their duty as a citizen of the country.
The chief guest Mr. Bhosale motivated the students to pursue their goals with hard work and persistent efforts. He also informed the students about the police helpline, and how students could contribute to the country in their own way. Then followed prize distribution by the chief guest. Principal Anupama Rao threw light on how youth have to utilize the freedom given to us by our ancestors.
The school choir group enthralled the audience with a melodious song. Class 10 students Nishta Patel and Amey Desai put forth their views and opinions about freedom and responsibilities.
A beautiful cultural program including a patriotic dance, rhythmic gymnastics and yoga performance was presented by students of various classes. The program ended with vote of thanks and shanti mantra for world peace and happiness.
