Sampoojya Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, our beloved Amma’s 69th birthday was celebrated on 27th September 2022 in each classroom by the teachers and students from Amrita Nursery to Grade XII.
They offered prayers and flowers with utmost devotion towards Amma as their respective class teacher recited the 108 sacred names of Amma (Ashtottara). Prasadam was distributed by the class teachers. Class XII students decorated their classroom with a pookalam.
On this auspicious day, under the guidance of Brni Sharanyamrita Chaitanya, “Vilakku puja” was also performed by the staff and students to invoke the blessings of Amma to give us strength, knowledge and prosperity.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp followed by Amma’s paduka puja while the Guru stotram was being chanted. Amma’s ashtottaram was done by offering flower petals at Her divine lotus feet. The devotional singing filled the auditorium with sanctity, transporting us to Amma’s world. Brni. Sharanyamrita Chaitanya spoke about Amma and the importance of imbibing the teachings of mahatmas in our lives. She explained the purpose of human life and urged us to strive for it with persistent effort and constant practice. Focus on the goal is the key to success was illustrated with examples from the Mahabharata.
The program ended with Aarti and Shanti Mantra, after which prasad was distributed to all.
