Janmashtami Celebration 2022

Sweeter than honey, tastier than curd, pleasanter indeed than any happiness and joy, is the company and power of the name of Krishna. The birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on Janmashtami day in India.

Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami is observed on the Ashtami Tithi, the eighth day of the dark half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Shraavana. Lord Krishna is known worldwide and celebrated as an avatar of Lord Vishnu.

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, the students of Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated Janmashtami. Students from Nursery to Class II came traditionally dressed as Radha and Krishna. A short puja of ladoo Gopalji was conducted and the importance of Janmashtami was explained by teachers.
