RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

Classes – Pre-primary – Grade 4

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister, which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.

The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Amrita Vidyalayam on 10th August 2022. The concept of Raksha Bandhan has a much wider concept beyond the raksha of a sister by her brother. It also includes the mutual commitment to safe-guard and protect each other, as well as bonding, for all of us.

The function started with an interactive session with the school children and teachers about the background and importance of Raksha Bandhan. The importance of the festival which strengthens the ties between brothers and sisters was explained by teachers to the students.

Classes from pre-primary to Grade 4 were gathered in the auditorium for the Rakhi tying celebration. While girls tied Rakhi on the wrist of boys, the boys gave chocolates in return. There was a beautiful song sung by the teachers to end the remarkable celebration.

“The bond between a sister and a brother, sometimes tightly woven, sometimes loosely held, but never broken.”
