National Mathematics Day 2021

Imagine our lives without numbers!!! We encounter numbers in our everyday life. We use them in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing for various reasons. Working with numbers helps in improvement of logical skills for children of all ages and helps them to improve thinking in abstract ways. Dealing with numbers on a regular basis enhances the ability to solve problems independently.

National Mathematics Day is celebrated on December 22nd every year to commemorate the birthday of world-renowned Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. The celebration takes place as a mark of appreciation for his contributions in mathematics and for making a name for India in the field of mathematics.

Amritians celebrated this wonderful day as their respective Math teachers of classes I to VIIinitiated a few interesting activities such as painting through shapes popularly known as the Warli Art, Mandala Art, Fraction Art Scenery, Magic with numbers, drawings using various shapes, etc. Learning about the importance of buying and saving their bills was a part of the day. Students made posters about the history of great mathematicians.
