MARATHI BHASHA DIWAS

The Rajya Bhasha of Maharashtra, Marathi, is one of the ancient and prominent languages of India. ‘Marathi Bhasha Diwas’ is celebrated to represent the art that enhances the beauty and dedication of the state in the form of poems, short stories, and folk songs. It honors the birth anniversary of renowned Marathi poet ‘Kusumagraj’ who was also an eminent playwright, novelist, and short-story writer, besides being a humanist. His works like the Vishakha (1942), a collection of lyrics, inspired a generation into the Indian freedom movement.

Teachers organized a virtual celebration to instill the importance of the day and share knowledge about the origin of the language. A speech was delivered which emphasized the importance of the language. Students recited some famous Marathi poems. Marathi bhasha abhimaan geet, Bolto Marathi, Ayikato Marathi, Jaanato Marathi, Maanato Marathi, was melodiously sung by students. A virtual play and story-telling in this distinguished language were witnessed by all.
