AMRITAVARSHAM 67

Amma is the true embodiment of unconditional love, unlimited compassion and divinity. Her divine presence has blessed millions and encouraged many to follow the path of spirituality, practise kindness, caring and compassion, as well as strive for enlightenment. This year, our beloved Amma requested all Her children to dedicate Her birthday, September 27th, to meditation, prayer and worship for global peace.

Amma says, “True happiness is when the love that is within us finds an expression in external activities”. As a token of their love towards Amma, students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Juinagar expressed their heartfelt gratitude by following this very quote. This year being unusual, students, under the guidance of their teachers and parents wished Amma in a unique way. As Amma mentions, true happiness and contentment comes only when we serve others, love others and interact with others based on mutual understanding.

Our middle school and high school students penned down their good deeds, capturing their acts of compassion, empathy and love to help their near and dear ones during this pandemic. The primary school students planted herbs, keeping in mind Amma’s love for nature. The lower primary section children showered their love in the form of greeting cards for their beloved Amma. In these testing times, how can our most promising pre-primary children be left behind? Our Senior KG children celebrated Red Day and marked Amma’s birthday by offering Her red flowers, and Junior KG children learnt about the term ‘germination’, and enjoyed the procedure of planting herbs in their kitchen garden. Our nursery tots chanted prayers and wished Amma with their cutest gestures.

Guru Stotram was chanted by Rashi, Nimisha, Sanjana, Vaishnavi, Nidhi and Ritika along with the school music teacher Ms. Sumita.
