The Guru is not someone who is confined to the body. When there is selfless love for the Guru, we will be able to see him not only in his body but in every living and non-living thing in this world. Learn to see everything as the Guru’s body and serve them accordingly – AMMA.
Guru Purnima is a day to honour our Gurus and to express our gratitude to ‘the one who frees us from ignorance’. No one is capable of doing everything on their own, hence we need a guru to guide us. As Amma says, anybody and anything – from a teacher, a friend, a relative or a good book to religious and spiritual masters can be our Guru. Amma has always nurtured all her children with her precious guidance and instructions.
In the testing times of the current pandemic, our respected Principal Ma’am, Brni. Saranyamrita Chaitanyaji and our dear teachers left no stone unturned to celebrate Guru Purnima virtually with much joy and vigour. Guru stotram and Guru Ashtothram were chanted and Guru Pooja was performed with great reverence, followed by singing Amma’s bhajans and offering flowers (pushpanjali) to our beloved Amma. Prasadam and sweets were distributed amongst the family members and a wave of happiness was experienced by all. The divine presence of Amma is a blessing that makes our lives meaningful. May the true light of wisdom be showered upon all as we bow our head to thank Amma!
