Hindi Diwas Celebrations

Seeking blessings from Her Holiness, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi and under the able guidance of Principal Brni. Rekha, Hindi Diwas was celebrated on September 20, 2018 in a spectacular manner during the morning assembly of the school. The proceedings of the Assembly which included प्रतिज्ञा, समाचार, and विचार were carried out in Hindi by the students. Ms. Minu Pandey, Head of the Hindi Department welcomed the teachers and students by rendering a short poem. Students from standards 4 to 12 lined up an interesting array of activities to accentuate the beauty and importance of the language. The programme started with the rendition of Amma’s Amritavani which was followed by recitation of poems and a speech highlighting the importance of Hindi as a language that binds people from different states across the country. Students quickly turned the stage into a ‘darbar’ where Hindi poetry was cherished and appreciated by kings and common people. A hard hitting drama “Hindi ki kahani Hindi ki zubaani‘ depicted the decline of this beautiful language in modern times.

The programme owes its success to the guidance of all the Hindi teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam and the students who enthusiastically participated in each of the activities. Brni. Rekha conducted meditation in Hindi, and the programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
