A team of 9 doctors from Dr. D. Y Patil University conducted a medical camp for students from grades 9 to 12. The students’ pulse, vision, teeth and ears were checked and they were given the results of the check-up and advised accordingly. Dr. Pallavi Bhirud also gave a lecture on Health and Hygiene for 7th grade students. The focus was mainly on cutting down on junk food and sodas, and relishing home made food which is made with love and is definitely healthier. A maximum screen time of 20 minutes per day was the advice given to students in order to help keep the brain alert and ensure better vision for years to come. Students enjoyed interacting with her, and asked questions about the right quantity of water to drink during the day, the correct way of taking medicines, and the truth behind various products that are advertised in the market which claim to have nutritional values. Dr. Pallavi felt that the students asked very interesting questions and commented on how much she enjoyed interacting with them.
